Lumenite Light Sleeves

The Lumenite® Light Sleeve is a semi-translucent, photoluminescent sleeve that fits readily over new or existing fluorescent tubes.

It absorbs light from the fluorescent lamp when lit, and emits light in the event that the light source is removed (eg blackout).

The emitted light is projected onto pathway obstacles to provide visual guidance around them so that safe, orderly and expedient evacuation may occur.

The chemical composition is finely balanced to minimize lumen loss from the lamp during normal operation while maximizing available usable light in the event of a blackout.

In addition to providing backup evacuation lighting, the Lumenite® Light Sleeve can also be utilized to establish escape route paths creating a 'breadcrumb' effect providing easy to follow evacuation routes.

Semi-rigid transparent PET (plastic) as standard, printed from the rear to provide highest quality, aesthetically pleasing vandal resistant finish.

Includes a protective foil and adhesive backing for direct application, or mount in a frame.

We employ TD® SYSTEM patented technology.  The sign is placed inside a multi-layered plate containing a UV filter which increases the signs’ protection against weather conditions.   The perfectly smooth surface enables easy cleaning.

The back of the sign has an adhesive foam layer making installation quick and easy.

The outer surface of the sign is covered by protective foil which guarantees protection during storage and transport, as well as enabling installation in incomplete buildings without the risk of damage (e.g. during painting).

TD signage provides an economical, fail-safe, environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing means of visually identifying escape routes and people movement pathways, and provides the means for finding fire related or safety equipment in blackout situations.

Unless requested otherwise, all Lumenite 'Plastic' signs are TD® SYSTEM on PET, which stands for polyethylene terephthalate.

Polyethylene terephthalate is a polymer that is formed by combining two monomers (modified ethylene glycol and purified terephthalic) acid and is used around the world to package foods, beverages, personal care products and other consumer items.

PET is generally labeled with the #1 "chasing arrows" recycling code on or near the bottom of bottles and containers and is the most recycled plastic in America.

Manufacturers use PET plastic because of its strength, thermo-stability and transparency. Customers choose PET because it is inexpensive, lightweight, resealable, shatter-resistant and recyclable.

Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) can be used to make many new products, including fiber for polyester carpet; fabric for T-shirts, long underwear, athletic shoes, luggage, upholstery and sweaters; fiberfill for sleeping bags and winter coats; industrial strapping, sheet and film; automotive parts, such as luggage racks, headliners, fuse boxes, bumpers, grilles and door panels; and new PET containers for both food and non-food products.
